Cliff divers in Acapulco

While in Acapulco, you should not miss the cliff divers at La Quebrada. These divers make spectacular 130-foot leaps off the cliffs into just 11 feet of water. It is definitely a “must see”, the dives and divers have become famous around the world.

Divers plunge into a narrow cove, which is safe only when a wave has come in. So, they have to dive at exactly the right second.

The exhibitions are scheduled at 1:00, 7:00, 8:00, 9:00 and 10:30 PM. For the last show at night, divers carry torches, adding a touch of drama to this unforgettable show.

The show can be seen from a public viewing area for a small entrance fee; in balconies built into the cliffs opposite to the diving sites. The best place to view the divers is to go right down to the bottom and go right up to the brick wall facing the cliff.

Another way of seeing this show is from La Perla Restaurant at “El Mirador Hotel”. There is a minimum consumption charge.
