Punta Mita is located in the Banderas County in the state of Nayarit, 25 miles northwest from Puerto Vallarta. It is 40 minutes from the airport by car. You can access from the 200 highway, especially if you come from Tepic, Puerto Vallarta or Guadalajara.

There are 2 main white sand beaches in Punta Mita, one is in front of the restaurants and the other in front of town. None of them are crowded unless it is a holiday. They are perfect to walk during the morning and enjoy the bird area. A whole range of outdoor activities are available, such as sailing, kayaking, fishing, horseback riding, volleyball, golf and tennis. Punta Mita is also considered one of the area's best places for deep-sea diving, snorkeling and surfing.
