Punta Mita is located on the Pacific Coast of Mexico in the state of Nayarit, in the northen tip of Banderas Bay. The 1,500 acre spear-shaped peninsula is surrounded by the Pacific on three sides, it offers sandy beaches, rocky shell-strewn stretches, and small coves. There is a shallow reef off the coast, ideal for scuba diving and snorkeling.

It is only a few hours by plane from Los Angeles, San Francisco, Dallas, Chicago, Denver and other major cities in the United States. Punta Mita is considered one of the world's best spots for sport fishing, kayaking, whale watching, surfing, and sailing. On shore, Jeep safaris, rainforest touring, horseback riding are among the activities that can be practiced in the area.
