Transport your senses, come to Valle...

Valle de Bravo is a picturesque village, a two-hour drive from Mexico City, with a spectacular manmade lake. You can water ski, sail, and enjoy the frequent regattas held there. The hilly area around the town lends itself to other popular sports such as motocross, horseback riding and biking. The breathtaking surroundings and trails invite nature lovers to hike in the forest and mountains.

Many Mexico City residents choose Valle de Bravo as a place to rent or buy a weekend house or cabin, most of which offer a view of the lake, mountains, or the golf course in Avandaro. Canadians, Americans and British have fallen in love with “Valle” and decided to reside there. Tranquil during weekdays, the village comes alive over weekends and vacation periods. Its temperature is temporate (average 66 F), mostly warm during the day though it can get chilly at night. The road to Valle de Bravo is winding in places, but the scenery is stunning. At certain points, you can see the snow-topped Nevado de Toluca, the pine tree forest, and during winter, you may witness the unique experience of the Monarch butterfly migration.

Valle de Bravo has maintained its traditional Mexican village image, and most houses and stores are painted white with red tiled roofs. Some of the dazzling houses overlooking the lake were designed by Mexico’s top architects.

Boutique stores sell stylish Mexican handicrafts and furniture. At the central arts and crafts market, local indigenous people sell their colorful handmade wares. These crafts range from simple carved plates and trays, leather sandals and boots to clothing and exquisite table mats and cloths, among others. Prices are moderate.

This charming village bewitches visitors from afar. Its proximity to Mexico City, the many entertaining pastimes, its natural beauty have made it a spellbinding destination for people from all over the world.
